Persian Heriz Rug Cleaning and Repair at Rug Ideas in Los Angeles

We picked up a room size Persian Heriz rug from a client’s house in Santa Monica for cleaning. We offered repair of four sides as the sides were damaged and were falling apart. She agreed. We first inspected the rug and as usual took several before picture and then dusted it to make sure dust and dry sail is out of the low pile and the construction.

Then we gave the rug a full bath and washed it multiple times. We sanitized and deodorized the rug.

After the rug was completely dry, one of our repair technicians worked on the repair. We secured the ends and fringes to make sure the knots do not come off. We replaced the selvages and the bindings on the sides by hand. We do not use any kind of sewing/surging machines to repair rugs and everything is done by hand.
