We received this big Aubusson rug from a client who wanted to down-size it from 12′ x 17′ to 10′ 6″ x 11′ 8″. We measured the Aubusson rug first and marked the ideal size with blue tape and then cut it. Before we cut a rug, kilim, tapestry or an Aubusson rug, we measure it with care several times. We do not want just to cut it and then realize that we made a mistake.

One of our master weavers then started to work on sewing and stitching the pieces together. Kash, our operations manager supervised the whole process very carefully to make sure nothing goes wrong. After four big pieces of this Aubusson rug were washed professionally, we stitched them together, and matched the design. The outcome came out great. For extra protection, we sewed canvas straps on the back on the joint/stitch lines.

Below, I am posting the picture of the complete job. The size is the exact size our client wanted. She was so happy at the time of pick up that she hugged me and Kash twice and left our store with a big smile on her face.
