Deep Rug Cleaning: The Professional Way
CategoriesRug Ideas
When it comes to rug cleaning, we do not do steam or dry cleaning. Some people go by the price, we go by the quality of our work. We should not be compared with wall-wall carpet cleaners.
This video is self explanatory and needs no text or voice over. This is what we do and how we do the rug cleaning. This is of course one method. We take other measures and use other methods in cleaning rugs. We give the rugs a complete (wet) bath. We will have other videos in later times.

Excellent video.
Thank you David. I enjoyed visiting your rug cleaning facility and appreciate the tour Lisa and all of you gave us. Best regards.
The work you do is amazing. The before and afters look like different rugs.
I am not a fan of showing clients how rugs are cleaned purely because it shocks them and turns them off.
They don't understand that rugs have been cleaned like this for centuries.
They look at the price they paid for their rugs or the sentimental value and think that because it is high value to them that their rugs need to be treated delicately.
Other people appreciate knowing how rugs are cleaned, but more often than not they see their rugs being roughly.
Without seeing the the rug before it was wet the end results look like the rug was faded by cleaning for people not aware of what Abrash is.
I don't mean to bash your video because like I said in the beginning the work you do is amazing, it is just I am not a fan of showing prospective clients how it is done.
Hi Mary. Thank you very much for your kind comment and concern. we do not show this video to the owner of this particular rug. You're right. Too much information sometimes is no good, but we had to have this video for some cases and some customers. Of course this is not a one-size-fits-all.
Rugs will become dirty in time, no matter how careful the owner. Accumulation of dust and silt also contributes to wear. Every four years or so, a rug should be washed as routine maintenance. Rugs can also dry out from central heating and washing, not only cleans the rug but re-moisturizes the wool. Spot cleaning may be necessary in the case of stains from spills but do not use any chemical cleaners or stain removers, since they may damage the rug irreversibly. Red wine, tea, coffee, milk, and pet stains require immediate attention. Such spills should be blotted up and then flushed with water.
The good form of rug cleaning is always prevention. Taking proper care and maintaining your rug clean will save you money from having to buy expensive cleaning products.
Restoration of a rug can go as far as re-weaving a significantly large worn area or simply putting fringes back together. We use hand spun wool and tailor made vegetable dyes individually mixed for color matching to suit the needs of the rug.
