Today was the third day of our Certified Rug Specialist class. The instructor Ellen Amirkhan talked about the exam we should take at the end of the class and handed out a form we had to sign and turn in for a project that we should do to complete our course of study.
Ellen and Aaron talked about different aspects of oriental carpets and Ellen talked and introduced few types of tribal rugs such as Balouch rugs, Afshar rugs, and Turkomen rugs. Then we had some hands on projects in groups and each group identified the technical aspects and the origin of each rug it was given.
Like yesterday and the day before that we were bombarded with rug stuff and related topics and discussions. Tomorrow, non-Persian carpets will be introduced to the class.
All eight participants have become friends and we all had dinner together in a restaurant one block away from the hotel in which we are staying.
