Shag rugs are not easy to vacuum and since they are heavy, it is nit that easy to take out of the room to the balcony, yard, or parking to shake. They get dirty and dusty very easily. Shag rugs cannot and should not be steam, or dry cleaned.

Dusting shag rugs before cleaning them is the first step we take. We have to make sure all the dust, dirt and dry soil is out of the rug, otherwise, dust and water becomes mud, and we do not want to give the rug a bath in its own mud. Shampooing and rinsing follows the dusting and extracting water facilitates the drying process.
